Are Benelli M3s Hard to Load?

My Benelli M1S90 is much harder to load than my buddy's Remmy 870. It takes some effort to push the round into the mag tube, then the carrier comes smashing down on your thumb. My buddy's 870 slipped in real easy and smooth.

Is the Benelli M3 also a PITA to load, like the M1S90? I am thinking of switching to the 870 system just because they're so much easier to load :(

The M3 loads the same as the M1.

Early on, whenever I loaded my m1s and M3s, I would, as the round was just about to fully go into the mag, wrap a finger from my non-loading hand around the receiver and onto the carrier and hold it down as the loading thumb just finally inserts the round. It keeps the carrier retracted and doesn't jab into my thumb.

Now I just bend my loading thumb a little as I insert the round into the mag. The first knuckle of the thumb when it is bent keeps the edge of the carrier depressed and keeps it from gouging into my thumb. I do the same thing with my 1187.
