are argentinian FAL's any good?

Yes.

As it will be a pre-ban, expect to pay in excess of $1300. Depending upon model, the upper limit could be around two thousand.

If it is a paratroop model with folding buttstock, it will be considerably more.

Actually out of all the FAL types, the Argentine are rated as one of the best made in cosmetic and quality

Well, my DSArms-imported Argie FAL is post ban (Drugonov stock and all).

It shoots sub MOA with match ammo and Portugese surplus. (.75 and .5 repeatably) with scope and trigger job.

Argie trigger return springs are bit stiff. I (Arizona Response Systems) replaced mine with a lighter Belgian spring and stoned the surfaces. Quite nice.

im happy to hear that, i didnt know what i bought, i guess i did good then, i only gave $550 for the one i bought, stamped on the lower receiver it says F.M.A.P "DM" Rosairo industria Argentina , if that helps give a better description.

Hmm...doubtful you got an original argentine FAl for $550! On the other hand, that would be right on the money for one of the "parts kit" guns that were made of imported parts and a number of US parts, to meet stupid BATF regs.

What type of stock is on the rifle? What is on the end of the barrel? (muzzle brake, flash hider, etc) Any other markings?

hmmm......I may be mistaken.

I was under the impression that all argentine guns were pre 94.

Was not aware that DSA imported argentine receivers - I thought Armscorp was the only importer.

I am sorry to have mislead you, sirs.

i beleive it has what they call a "penguin" stock on it? the barrel is threaded and has screw on muzzle break, i dont know to much about FAL's so im tryin to find out what i got, i bought it off of my uncles father in law

My FAL has both a DSA stamp inside the mag well and another one from SAC (as I recall) from Latta, South Carolina. I think that SAC imported them first, and then DSA got them later. I called DSArms to confirm its lineage some many months ago. They said it was post ban. I don't feel like paying $200 to make it pistol grip legal so I will stick with the Drugo stock.

I should add that several months ago I put my Argie in the paper to sell it so that I could finance my tactical rifle (I sold a shotgun instead). I got a handful of calls from FAL guys who knew way more than me about FALs and who were particularly interested in Argie FALs for whatever reason.
