Are 9mm M228 NATO rounds more powerful than European 9mm rounds?

Is there anyone who can answer this question? What about European rounds like Geco 9mm 124 grs FMJ, Sellier & Bellot 115 grs FMJ, Hirtenberger 9mm etc.etc. Are they more powerful than U.S. Army M228 rounds? Which will wear out my pistols faster?
Thank you! :)

Do a search for 9mm NATO, 9MM+P, and 9MM+P+ and you will find this subject has been discussed a great deal here on TFL.

Generally, most NATO 9mm can be considered as basically +P ammo. Although safe in most guns to operate, it is harder on guns and may accelerate wear and tear.

Irfan - First it's M882 and it is loaded to NATO specs. Actually, the white box stuff from Federal (124 grain) seems a bit week but it says it is suppose to be loaded to NATO specs. If I had a chrono I could check it.

The Winchester M882 (headstamped WCC is the real stuff and is Military issue.) is also loaded to NATO specs.

Theoretically US NATO loaded ammo should be just as hot as the european stuff. Its hard to make that conclusion after you shoot some Italian Fiocci (sorry about the spelling) 123 grain ball. That stuff is also advertised as NATO spec but it sure barks.
