Are 3 screw Rugers better than modern ones?

Im looking to get a 44 mag Super Blackhawk for silhouette shooting. Should I look for a 3 screw model, or buy a new one? I hear the old ones have better triggers and a smoother action. Thanks-

Looking for a long barreled 3 screw .44 SBH and finding a long barreled 3 screw .44 SBH is 2 different things. To me the older action was much smoother after usage. If you choose to get a 3 screw model then good luck. on your search.

If you find one, try the trigger to see if it feels good to you.

Then decide if you want to have the Transfer Bar safety added if it has not been added already.

Fatelvis - Have you considered one of the S&W 29's in a silhouette version, 10 5/8 bbl, adjustable front and rear sights and sweet trigger pull.

3-Screws are supposedly easier to tinker with (change calibers etc.) Other than that I see no advantage over the newer ones.
