Is there a legal limit of magazine capacity for post-ban ar15?

Is there any source or manufacturer of ar15 mags felt to be superior? Any to avoid?

Nutshell - best to stick with USGI mags - however there are ways to get burned on these as well.

As far as a High capacity limit - it is a physical size limit. High cap mags can be founding in the following:

20
30
40
100 round mags

Do your homework. Some USGI mags are illegal to possess yet are not stamped LEO ONLY. (and yes - you may legally own all of the above mentioned capacity mags.)

Disclaimer!!! :check your local laws prior to taking my advise:

As far as I know it is not illegal to use PREBAN 'hi-cap' mags in a POSTBAN weapon as long as the mags are not restriced in your area.

Yeah, I said 'hi-cap' mag. I think 'standard cap sounds silly" :):)
 
I own a Bushmaster AR Shorty. The following is my pick list of mags (in order of reliability). Mag that did not make the list, I consider crap.

1. USGI 20 rounders
2. USGI 30 rounders (All but Coopers) Coopers are poopers.
3. *Israeli Orlite (I find myself using these most) see note.
4. *Thermold

*Note: Are as reliable as USGI as long as you do not keep them fully loaded for long periods of time. They seem to swell slightly.



Lower cap mags
1. Colt 9 round
2. Armalite 10 round
