How to remove stuck live round in chamber of Ar15. It wont come out with tapping cleaning rod from end of barrel all suggestions welcome.
Cheers.

Pounding from the muzzle does no good if the bolt is locked.

Use the technique known as "mortaring":

1. If it has a collapsible buttstock, put it in the collapsed position.

2. Remove the magazine and put the selector on "safe".

3. Starting with the buttplate 6" above the ground, slam the buttplate on the ground while simultaneously pulling the charging handle.

4. It may take several tries to get the bolt carrier to retract enough for the bolt to unlock.

Ar15 stuck case

Thanks for that, I have now got the bolt carrier out and the live round still
remains very stuck. Has anyone got any know how to hydraulic them out,
meaning what method will help very much.
Regards

Hydraulic? Fill the barrel halfway up with water and use a wooden dowel close to bore size and give it a whack with a hammer, being careful to not let the rod go in far enough to contact the cartridge. Messy, but certain hydraulic action and almost certain to dislodge the cartridge.

I hope you have an upper receiver block vise. It makes it easier to hold the receiver in place if you have to drive the bullet out.

I'd also hit it with Kroil and tap it out with a solid brass rod. The cartridge will be no good, but who cares when an expensive barrel is at risk?

Type of ammo is a reload, but i think it could be a primer that had popped
about five rounds before.
When it popped i had a good inspection of the bolt and chamber but could not find any popped primer, load was not over the top as this load i was firing
did not show any of the usual signs of to higher pressures.
I have beed reloading ammo for many guns over 35 years and never had a problem.
Have had mini 14. aks and browning bars and never a problem.
But with the law of averages it will happen some time.
Cheers
