hello

i just bought a AR15/colt sporter Preban in 7.62X39 cal. i thought it was all AR15 were .223 well now i am stuck. i like the low recoil of the .223 and easy parts. should i return the sporter for a regular AR15 .223 and just get post ban gun at cheap price or does any one know how difficult and the cost of parts to convert my gun to a .223. i know some 22LR kits are outthere but i havent seen them. thanks
hey got the gun for 1000.00 thought it was a gun deal. brand new never shot.

Concur with Nukem. Buy yourself a .223 upper and hold onto to the pre-ban lower. If you need the cash, sell the upper.

BTW, unless you get the older 1-12" twist, the conversion kits don't take too well with the faster twist barrels. There's two problems. First, the bore diameter of .224 is a mite too big for the 22 LR. It'll rattle down the bore. Second, the super fast twist of 1-7" which will deform the little 22 LR bullet. Some folks are going towards dedicated 22 LR uppers; which is something which I'd like to do myself.
