AR Triggers

i am not new to the AR-15 platform of rifles but i am new to some of the after market parts and accesories. what benifets dopes one get from a comp trigger? what are the applications other that actual comepition? is something like that needed in the field or is it personal preference.

The applications are the bullseyes, whatever that might be. A better trigger really does help. I have a RRA 2 stage trigger in my Bushy and while it is not terribly light (OK!) it is exceptionally clean break.
