AR sight suggestions

I just ordered this ar and need some iron sight recommendations. Looking for inexpensive sights because I plan on using a red dot mainly. Here is a picture of the rifle.

If you want inexpensive, you can go with a Magpul MBUS rear, but NOT a front... they are not for gas block mount (they'll melt), but that could save a bit of cash if need be and you aren't concerned with matching.

I have some Midwest Industries rear folding sights that work fine, I have no problem recommending them. Decent price for a decent product. Just be sure to get the right height front sight... you'll need the taller one intended for gas block mounting, not the shorter ones intended for handguard height rails.

Think in terms of a total package. You plan on using the red dot as your primary sight. It would be best if it co-witnessed with your iron sights. I know it's probably a little more expensive than you planned but I would suggest going with Troy sights. You'll be happier in the long run even if you have to wait to save up for them. The same goes with the red dot. Buy an Aimpoint ($400.00 for an Aimpoint Pro) or a little less for an EoTech 512.

Ugh.... Don't go with the UTG, I tried them just for kicks on my M&P PSX and they don't hold zero. I bit the bullet and went with the midwest industries set and they're awesome. I can't find one bad thing to say about them and you will not be disappointed if you get them.

Inexpensive set

I guess the OP did not ask for a cheap set. I bought a set of UTG as my back-up for my scope. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong ones because I needed a low profile front sight. So I have a set that I can't use.

I ended up using the set that came with my 15-22. I don't know who makes them, but it holds zero and does the job for me.

How does your UTG not hold zero? I'm curious as to what could loosen up in them to loose zero.

Datguy781 - I actually own a set that is made for low profile gas block. I was trying to find the manufacturer's serial number on it. I have to check my spare parts box. But here's a picture of it.

As you can see, the front sight is taller than the rear sight.

Magpul MBUS Flip Sights For A Exterme Budget Build

As I said earlier, the rear sight would work. The front will not. You cannot mount a Magpul MBUS on a gas block rail. It is guaranteed to melt and the height isn't correct for this setup anyway.
