ar sight question

I have a new Bushmaster M4 version and have a question about the front sight. While sighting it in at an indoor range I was having trouble with the lighting and difficulty seeing the front post clearly so want to put "night sight" post on it. Am I correct that all I need to do is use the sight tool and raise the post and it will come out and then be able to reverse the process to install the new one.

Yes. With the detent depressed (by the sight tool), the sight just screws out...

The problem with tritium sights (and some other "accurizing" sights) is you'll be limited to 2-notch adjustments on the front sight post (since you have to turn it 180° at a time, instead of just 90°). That's 2.5 MOA resolution, instead of the normal 1.25 MOA...

Thanks. Thanks also for the reminder about the 2 notch adjustment. When I zeroed it, it took two clicks up so that would work I believe.

Actually, if you purchase a Trijicon front sight, you will not be limited to 2 notches of adjustment. The sight post turns independently of the shaft, so that once you've made the proper adjustment, you rotate the sight post so that the tritium insert faces the proper way.
