Does anyone know what kind of permits i'd have to have to get an AR in canada? i want a real super-serious coyote gun but im afriad there might be too much red tape

Try looking here: http://www.canadianlawsite.com/gunlaws.htm
here: http://www.cfc-ccaf.gc.ca
or here: http://www.lufa.ca

On this page: http://www.cfc-ccaf.gc.ca/info_for-renseignement/factsheets/restricted_e.asp it appears that the AR-15 is a restricted firearm for Canada. Here's a summary:
In most cases, there are only four purposes for which you can be licensed to acquire and/or possess a restricted firearm:

1. For use in target practice or target shooting competitions;
2. To form part of a gun collection;
3. For use in connection with your lawful profession or occupation.

Or in rare cases,

4. To protect life.
I don't know what your level of tolerance is for red tape, but for me, having to consent to "inspections of the place where your collection is stored" is too much.

Here's a page that lists all the restricted and prohibited firearms: http://www.cfc-ccaf.gc.ca/info_for-renseignement/factsheets/r&p_e.asp

Good luck, my friend. It looks like you might be better off with a blow gun... :(

ah crap

looks like ill have to just buy a semi auto remington .243 for a yote rig. too much red tape is a pain and they wouldnt let me use it for yotes anyway. and yes its illegal to have more than 5 rds in a centerfire rifle in canada :mad: liberals have an extraordinary talent for making me mad
