ar pin punch size for front sight

I am trying to drive the pins out of an ar front sight base, cant find a pin to fit. all too big or very small. What is the correct size?

I use an 1/8" nail set. It's a strong, heavy punch. The pins are tapered so once they start to move you can push them out the rest of the way with anything.

As tight as those are, you need a starter punch, which is either a short straight, or tapered punch, as mentioned above. Once loose, you can push them out with a regular punch.

I will try a bigger punch and a larger hammer.

Just make sure you're trying to punch them out in the correct direction.
I use the picture of the Brownell's front sight block to check myself.
