AR mags

I am looking to buy a bunch of 30rd AR-15 mags in the near future and wanted to know from your experiences which are the best ones to buy. Colt, armalite, bushmaster ect...? Thanks

The best are the C-Products stainless mags with the MagPul followers. I just bought 60 of them. http://www.cproductsllc.com/

For USGI, try Center Industries, Okay, Adventure Line, Colt (I'm sure there's a few others I'm missing). I've had plenty of Bushmasters and they've always worked flawlessly for me; I'd expect the same of Armalite. Look for green followers or MagPul followers.

The best - IMO- are the HK mags. I only own 1. They cost about $60. But they are about the best you are going to find. After that probably Bushmaster Mags and then standard military mags made by Okay industies. I own 6 Okay mags and they have been great. THE BEST is really a matter of personal preference but I think this is a pretty fair short list. The Bushmaster mags have some internal coating that makes them smoother. If you are looking to buy ALOT of high quality mags, that may be the way to go. The Magpul's are a great option also. They work well and are Tacticool.

Go with the C-Products magazines. Very high quality. If you want to make them as bombproof as possible, replace with Magpul followers and an ISMI spring.

I just ordered 2, as spec'd per your recommendation. I had not even planned on buying more mags before I opened this thread. LOL.

IMO, C-Products and D&H are the two best. Those two companies make most of the mags for the high quality rifle builders and they just stamp their name on the floor plate. I have had nothing but great results with D&H and you can find them for about $10, plus most of them come with magpul followers.

Thanks for all the info guys. I have been planning on stocking up on hi-cap mags since our newly elected congress came to power. You never know what kind of anti gun crap they may try to pass again.

I received my two new mags in the mail. C Products was very prompt with the order processing and shipping.

I went out for some quick practice this morning and had problems with one of the magazines though. The first three rounds fed fine, but the fourth actually jammed into the feed ramp and set the bullet back in the casing. I cleared, tapped the magazine and fired the next round. The sixth round failed to feed as well, setting the bullet back in the casing again.

I changed magazines back to the bushmaster and everything was fine. Went through the Bushmaster magazine without a problem.

So I came inside and examined the C mag and found that the magpul Gen II follower was catching/binding on something around the middle of the magazine. Pressure on the back of the follower would free it up. I tinkered with it, trying to find exactly what was causing the problem but had no luck. I put a little oil on the front of the follower and had no further problems. Is this a common problem?

After this excercise, the magazines worked fine. I was impressed with them for the most part.

Cproducts with the Magpul anti-tilt followers. They've been flawless for me. The new Magpul polymer mags look interesting also, although I don't know when they'll be available.

With regards to the Magpul antitilt, I just received a set of three orange ones from Midway today. One question however. I have some "AR-Stoner" brand mags. They came with a grey follower. My Bushmaster mag came with green. The grey followers are the same size as my new orange ones. Does anyone know if they're the same thing?
