AR Flattop Upper W/O Ramps?

I recently picked up a 20" FN AR barrel with a 1:7 twist. It's never been fired (as far as I can tell) and I'm looking to build it up. But it is a rifle barrel and I do not want an upper with M4 ramps. I also want a flat top. I have an FN 20" barrel with a 1:12 twist that I attached to a DPMS slick side but am looking for an upper receiver with a forward assist for this build. Anyone have an idea where to find one? I'm willing to pay for it, not looking to do this on the cheap. I am having a hard time finding something without ramps....

please educate me. Not being a big AR guy, only having experience with an M16A1 in the 1970s and a "commando" clone in the early 80s, I don't know a lot about the latest variations.

What ramp are you talking about?

His barrel apparently does not have M4 feed ramps. If his receiver had the cutouts for them, the bullet tips could catch in them and jam the weapon.

Bingo.

And since everybody wants a 16" commando carbine with M4 feed ramps, it is harder and harder to find a receiver that does not have them and is appropriate for a rifle barrel without feed ramps.

Still looking, I'm prefer to go with somethin higher quality than a DelTon receiver. It's an FN barrel, the equivalent of a Colt. I just can't see attaching it to a Delton...

Have you considered having the M4 ramps cut into your new barrel? It might be the easier way to go. I thought they came up with M4 style ramps to aid in smoother chambering of the round? Wouldn't that be a good thing, or am I missing something?

Here you go. Already has the forward assist and ejection port cover installed, even. It's Rock River, hope that's decent enough... can't imagine why it wouldn't be.

Top item, $89. From a vendor I use pretty often- they ship fast, and if it's on the site, it's in stock.
