AR conversion

Greetings...

I have a customer who wants an AR15 pistol that is in A2 format converted to A3 format. Can someone tell me what is involved in that? Is it as simple as I am thinking - just swapping uppers?

Thanks in advance.

Besides swapping complete uppers, if you've got the tools, you can actually buy the other receiver and remove all the parts from the first and assemble them on the newer A3 receiver. Go to AR15.com for instructions on how to build ARs.

Other than standard pin punches, you will need an AR armorers wrench for the barrel nut. And you really should have the clamshell receiver blocks to hold it properly in a vise. A simple job if you have the right tools. I took a 2-day armorers class and invested in the tools so I could work on these rifles correctly. I didn't want to be one of the WECSOG guys.

If the rifle was in my shop here, I'd do the conversion for $35 labor. I do have A3 uppers in stock too.............
