I have a question for you will post it in the Rifle and Smith lines. I built an AR-15 Upper and used some of the paint from Brownells the epoxy. Painted the upper section and the free floating tube, and some other small parts. The barrel is all set is stainless, and will leave it alone.
The paint did not wear well and want to take it down and change the finish. I will remove all the paint and get it clean. I have seen some different cold blues and blacks, other paints. I also was looking at the Blue/Black Wonder kit sold by Midway; you heat up the metal with a hair dryer. I watched the promotional video and it looked like it would work?
Has anyone used a cold black product or other gun finish that you do not have to bake on, air spray, and is not real costly, that works? This stuffed looked ok and the 4oz will do 4 guns so should do mine. I don’t expect a custom finish, just something that looks ok and wears well.
