I am thinking of placing an order for one of these. Can anyone give me feedback on them. Also, I see some of the 180's around--would it be worthit to put the extrsa dollars to it and buy one of those.

Here's a bunch of threads on the subject, some good first hand info but mostly speculation as few have actually laid their hans on one. The first thread listed details the reasons for the delay. When I placed my order two weeks ago, ArmaLite was promising November/December delivery.

Is it just me, or is Clint at Fulton Armory got an operating rod up his a$$? Everything I have read of his seems to be bringing other's products down. "AR-180 what? That is so dumb. Buy one of our overpriced AR-15's instead!".

Here's also an email list devoted to the AR-180B. Hopefully it will pick up when some of us actually get our rifles.

matt:
I spoke with a customer service person at Armalite today and she said that the hangup has been a subcontractor changing the material in the reciever without notifying Armalite. The change would have lessened the usefull life of the rifle so Armalite had to pull all the stock that was done and come up with a new supplier--or so I hear.
I would seem that they are months from being able to ship anything. You heard anything different?

That's exactly what the Armalite rep posted on the AR15.com board a couple of days ago. Funny, since their advertising boasts that they are a full service manufacturing facility, not an "assembler". I guess that only applies to their AR-15's.
