what are the pro's and con's of both i think i like the picatinny mount it will match the mount on my ar10a4 .im thinking i will be able to use the same scope for both gun.am i right or just crazy.

Picatinny and Weaver will accept the same rings which are usually referred to as weaver style. The picatinny is usually used to describe a mount used by the military that has all the slots at the exact same distances so that you can move or change optics without screwing up the placement. If your AR10 and the other mount have true picatinny mount then you should be able to move one to the other. It seems like in this situation you should go with the picatinny. Good luck.

The advantage of the Picatinny rail over the Weaver is that it's dimensions are precisely defined where as Weavers are not.

weaver is easy to say but sounds like the other would be the best for me ,thanks all,keith
