I'm not certain what you're looking for here. The true Colt "GI" M4 upper has feed ramps in the "throat" of the upper to match deeper feed ramps in the "true" M4 barrel.
If you do not have a full-auto M4, these ramps can be considered superfluous. If you happen to have an upper that is marked "M4" on the face and/or has the ramp cuts, best to have matching ramps on the barrel, else there's a discontinuity in the feeding process. If you have a barrel with the deeper ramps but a receiver without the cuts, you need not be concerned.
All bets are off, however, for a full-auto M4. With those, you open up a whole kettle of worms with which "Big Green" struggles to this day.
