AR-15 Damaged Lower

I punched out the front disassembly pin too far. The front 1/16" of the detent pin tunnel is broken off. How big of a problem is this and is there a fix? No flames, please. I'm sick over having done this, but I need some sound advice. Thanks!
 
Lower receivers are cheap. A high quality replacement lower can be had for $125.

The cost to weld up the breakout, re-drill, file to shape and refinish the lower would be more than the cost of a replacement lower.
 
I'm not sure I understand exactly which pin you are refering to, the one that the upper pivots on (I think not) or the little channel that holds the detent that holds the detent for the pin that holds the big pin that the upper pivots upon (I think this one). If so, could a shorter spring and a longer pin work? You could probably fashion a pin from a small finish nail. I've used JB Weld on motorcycle crankcases a number of times. It is amazing stuff.
 
Colt has used a screw type front pivot pin on some guns that obviates the need for the detent. I'd try and find a screw type front pivot pin.
