AR-15 advice.

Any manufacturer of G.I. mags, except Cooper. Any Thermold mag made in North Carolina. You can get them at gunshows and at zillions of places on the internet.

Stick with any USGI mags and you will be ok. I believe that Cooper's are fine as long as they have the 6 spot welds on them. Colt mags are equivalent to the USGI mags they just seem to be overpriced because of the Colt name. Thermold's made in the USA are also good, 2nd tier, mags, and Israeli Orilites are behind them. What ever you do stay away from steel ar15 mags. Also, there is a brand name of ar15 mags called USA. Stay away from them because they suck ass and only made enough that actually worked to keep selling some to unsuspecting people.

USGI mags are the only way to go. Some knowledgable people say Thermolds and Orlites are OK too, some don't. Everyone agrees on USGI.
The only ones to avoid are a run of Sanchez mags that didn't have the proper number of spot welds holding the mag body together. Never heard of the Cooper problem, but who knows. Just look at the back of the mag and count them...there should be 6.

My vote is for Thermold mags, I have used them for years and they have never let me down. They can take more abuse than any aluminum mag, seat easily in any AR, don't rattle and feed reliably. I only wish that they were produced in 20rnd config for ease of bench rest shooting.
