AR-10 enroute - suggestions?

Hi All,

Looks like a trade will work out well. I should soon be the new owner of an AR-10.

Any hints about scope mounts, triggers, magazines or anything else?

Test report will follow..

Said I'd share my opinions..

Hate to generalize, but if all AR-10's are like this, they're shooters. I got honest 2 inch groups at 100 y. Ammo was the excellent British surplus stuff that's hit the market recently.

Good things - trigger is excellent. This is the same trigger that's in the AR-10T. Accuracy is as tight as I can hold. I like the control layout and the operation is a natural for me.

Not so good things - the muzzle blast is terrific. The muzzle break works well, but the increased "blast" is very bothersome. I am concerned about the magazines. Not sure why Armalite has ceased converting the owners M14 mags, but like the Stoner, the factory ones are not cheap.

All in all - good rifle, just not a "general" rifle.

Hi M16,

I may be guilty of posting false info.....
Looked at Armalite's web site and they didn't offer the service. I will recheck tomorrow..
