I am the featured interviewee in the latest edition of the Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network Journal. The topic is Appropriate Guns and Training.
According to the ATF Annual Firearms Manufacturers And Export Report, in 2010 Ruger's production of the LCP (255,789) represented 54% of their total handgun production and 68% of their centerfire handgun production. In 2009, LCP production (198,844) was 62% of centerfire handgun production. I wouldn't be surprised that the LCP demand is the reason Ruger has stopped taking orders from distributors until its backlog is cleared.Although the .380 ACP is much maligned and poo-pooed in the various forums, it's encouraging to note that the companies making concealable pistols in this caliber can't make them fast enough.
