Apex Trigger kit for M&P 9mm

I'm considering having an Apex trigger dropped into my M&P 9mm and I a have a couple of questions.

1) What kind of experience have folks had with the Apex trigger kits on the M&P?

2) It appears that the Apex kits come with trigger safeties (like the Glock). Will this replace the thumb safety that is currently on my gun?

1. They are superb and should be factory equipment. Do not hesitate.

2. It will not replace your factory thumb safety. The thumb safety can be removed from the gun (the standard version does not actually include one) but this is independent of the trigger kit. They just opted to go with a trigger dingus like the Glock rather than the 2-piece pivoting trigger as the factory version. Same effect, different methods.

You need to choose your words carefully here. APEX offers a dizzying array of products now. This includes both trigger kits that replace parts such as the striker block and sear, as well as the actual trigger itself such as the AEK trigger.

Edit: Both are great products though. I recently installed both the APEX DCAEK and the AEK trigger into an M&P Compact. Honestly the newest M&Ps don't really need the DCAEK any more, IMO. It does make the trigger pull smoother because they use a striker block that is radiused better, but it actually removes a little of the snappiness from the reset. The AEK trigger is pretty nice. Honestly I think the little dingus works better as a safety than the hinged trigger does, at least in terms of unintended trigger movement, and it gives you significantly better leverage (probably the most notable part of it). Right now on a Lyman digital scale my trigger pull averages at 7 lb. 1 oz., but feels much lighter than that because of the leverage afforded by the AEK shape. APEX does some awesome work.

I put the FSS kit in both my wife's FS 9 as well as my CORE 9. We both love them. Much improved over the factory set up.
