AO Ghost Ring Sight on Lever Gun?

Just picked up a nifty Marlin 1894 carbine in 357 (don't go there, plz) and was thinking of putting the AO Ghost ring sight on it.

Anybody done that? How did it work? Do you have to replace the front sight too, or does it work with existing sight?

The Ashley sights are a dream. I have a set of them on a Savage 99 I converted into a Scout rifle (shamless brag) and I will be ordering two more sets next week one for my Guide Gun and another set for a 99 in 358 Win. that I traded for today (gloat).

BTW the 99 converted to a Scout on their website is mine (another shamless brag)

I've had a Williams peep sight on my Marlin .30-30 for a couple of years. It's rather large, and I was having trouble focusing on the stock front sight with it, so I recently bought a set of Ashleys. When I went to sight them in, I found that the rear sight did not have sufficient elevation adjustment. So, while at the range, I took off the AO rear sight and tried the Ashley front sight with the Marlin buckhorn rear. I found that the combination of the stock rear sight with the highly visible AO front sight works great for me!

BA,
I've got Ashleys on my Marlin 1894P .44mag. I initially put just the rear sight on. At the range (50yrds) with the factory front sight and 240gr. bullets, POI was about 6-8" high. With the taller Ashley front sight installed, POI ought to be just about right. I'll let you know when I get back from the range!

PS. I initially put both front/rear Ashleys on my Marlin 39AS .22 and POI was about 6-8" low at 50yrds, so I put the factory front (shorter post) back on which should raise my POI. As you can see, different for both guns.
