Caldwell G3 Hearing Protectors:

I've been looking at these and they look pretty good for $60.
Anyone out there using these? What do you think of them?

:oA little late for a response but anyhow, here it goes.......
I bought these because I had a buddy that had a $100+ pair of electonic muffs and I got tired of not hearing what he was saying when he could hear me. The first few uses were fine, then the static developed when changing the volume, which got worse and worse. Eventually, the whole thing went dead, but I turn them on every now and then and they will work for a few minutes. I view them as a pair of plain earmuffs now....spend a few more bucks and get something you won't have to replace every few months.

Cabelas is selling the E-Max low profile for $19.99. Looks like the same muff as the G3 it just has the older electronics, cuts out completely on gun shots instead of just turning down. They have the same 21dB protection as the G3. I have the normal size E-Max which is 23 db, but I still use ear plugs with them.

Bought a couple of spares so I can take friends shooting and have all of us hear OK.

Reviews on the E-Max low profile Muffs are also not that good but for $26.00 (including Cabela's shipping charges), I think is a OK deal..
