Anyone use this forearm with their Shotgun

zahal.jpg

It is $57 (Which I think is reasonable if it is quality)

It is found here: http://www.zahal.org/FAB/PR870.htm

So has anyone used it? Have you ordered from the site and was it reputable to deal with?

Thank you in advance for any quality feedback.

Are you installing it on a mossberg 500 or a remington 870?

Both my friends have that on their mossberg 500. One of them has one made by mako, the other one has one made by command arms. I'd say the quality is pretty much the same (standard polymer stuff).

If you're installing it on a Mossberg 500, be prepared to invest an extra $100, because you'll need a forend tube and a tube nut in order to secure it properly.

Cheaperthandirt.com usually have those type of forends in stock, and their price is pretty fair.

For mossberg: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SHT078-1.html

For remington: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SHT049-1.html <== better quality, so the price is naturally higher.

I usually order my gun parts from cheaperthandirt, amazon, or manventureoutpost, so I can't comment on zahal.org.

Good luck and have fun :).

Hank, there are two forend lengths for a mossberg 500. Knowing the one you have will help buying doo-ma-hickey items...

My main concern would be the rail cutting into the shooter's hand. I'd probably recommend you get some good rail covers (preferably something soft) to protect your support hand.

I have a hard plastic (non-railed) forearm on my 870, and it can get a bit rough on my left hand when shucking the thing quickly to pick up a skeet double.
