I've used the KG-1 carbon remover and really like it. It's the first step in cleaning a barrel before you get down to lead or jacket fouling. Did a great job on lead fouling in a shotgun barrel after shooting slugs. Best product I've used for carbon in AR-15 bolts. I'm not sold on the idea that you need abrasives for bore cleaning as the rest of the KG system (KG Bore Cleaner)advocates. Like other bore lapping or cleaning compounds, the KG system expects that a patch can remove fouling and/or lap a bore with consistency. I believe such mechanical type of material removal cannot be done correctly with a cleaning rod, patches and hand stroking.
