Have you used this? Does it make it easier to clean next time? Is it bad?

Do you use any other "bore prep?"

Thanks.

I have a jar ........

I have tried it, but it didn't seem to work as advertised; all the manufatures say that thier product is the best. when I want my rifle squeeky clean, I use outers little electronic deal. when I want the copper out good enough to shoot, I use something with ammonia base. sure would be nice to have a gentleman's gentleman to do all that arm work.

I have used both JB and Flitz for polishing bores after using Butch's Bore Shine to totally clean out the bore. Then I use a bore conditioner to lube the bore before storing. I don't know if it makes it any easier to clean, but I like to think it makes the rifle shoot better. It's kind of a superstitious thing. Probably has little or no effect.

Thanks.

I did see a thread where a benchrest shooter thought it did well on his rifles, and did nothing to wear out his bore as some say.

I use it on my 45/70 barrel. It sure gets it clean as a mirror. I'm pretty sure that it helps keep it from leading and makes clean up easier. OTOH, I've also started sizing bigger so that could be it too.

I use JB Bore Paste to scrub bores that need it, and it works well for doing what you want. I have some of the JB Bore Bright, but haven't used it yet. IIRC, the Bore Bright is more abrasive than the Bore Paste.
