Anyone use a belt slide holster?

I have a couple I bought from Dillon many years ago called a NJABS it was like $15.00

Unfortunately they no longer carry them. Very functional and one of my favorite holsters. The Mitch Rosen you posted looks good. The two I have look similar to this one with out a metal belt clip as some come with now a days.

Make 'em too. Made one that covers the entire trigger of either a 1911A1 or a BHP. Have a commercial one that's a lot less. Both pistols disappear on one's carcass.
The idea is to have a holster that doesn't look like one for the times you're in places you cannot carry. However, the whole holster thing is mostly about your budget. You really don't need to spend $100 on a good holster. Don't forget that the belt is as important as the holster.
 
I have a couple of slide holsters but the only pistols I carry in 'em are beaters, like one of my banged up and worn 5946TSWs. While slide holsters are convenient they offer little for gun protection or the protection of objects around the person, especially ones worn OWB. I have scraped up gun finishes, scratched cars, & gouged furniture with them.

With that said, slide holsters work well for IWB carry. Triggers are fully covered.
 
One important function of holsters is to protect the gun from stuff you bump into and protect the stuff you bump into from the gun.

Belt slides tend to do neither of those things well.

If you carry all the time, you're going to notice the extra wear and tear on the unprotected parts of the gun. More importantly, while bumping into something with a piece of leather-covered metal may not be an issue, bumping a piece of unprotected metal against a chair or wooden doorframe, or a car door/doorpost is going to leave a mark.

If you always wear a pretty heavy cover garment (as opposed to a thin shirt) it may not be an issue.

My issue with belt slides is the way they offer the opportunity for pressure on the muzzle (from a chair arm, seat or seatbelt attachment) to 'pop' the gun up and out of the holster. There are too many things to bump against in my world for me to be comfortable with that possibility.

belt slide holsters

I have frequently carried a variety of different handguns concealed using the Bianchi Black Widow holster, which is a belt slide with a thumb break retaining device.
 
Thanks for the replies guys. I could see how a belt slide would lead to the gun bumping into things.

I'm going to go for an OWB thumb break that fully covers the weapon, some other forum members have been kind enough to link me a couple.
