Anyone ever try the above oil/lube. If so, what do you think? I acquired a quart. It seems like a regular oil except thick. It has a preservative in it.

From the "US Archive":

1.1.6 MIL-L-3150B(2): Lubricating OH, Preservative, Medium (Military Symbol
PL-M (NATO Code: 0-192)

General characteristics : Preservative lubricating oil consisting of a petroleum
fraction containing additives necessary to meet specification requirements.

Uses : Intended for lubrication and protection against corrosion of ferrous and
nonferrous metals, interior of gear assemblies, transmissions, differentials, etc. Not
intended for the protection of internal combustion engines.

Wow, still hanging in there after nine months.
I have some Lubricating oil, preservative, light.
I have been using it out of a quart that I got at a gun show several years ago. It works about as well as any.
I don't know how well the medium will work as a gun lube. Probably ok, considering the 10W-50 motor oil that some shooters use.

Thanks for the post. I noticed the light, too. I think it is called PL-S.

I say keeping a gun lubed is more important than what a person uses. I'm still curious of them, though.
