Anyone Seen One of These Before?

This is supposedly a "rare" but most definitely (unique) Healthways Plainsman .175 CO2 pistol! I picked it up at a yard sale and the guy said he's never seen another polished Plainsman before, didn't really believe him but it was heavy like a real gun, clean and shiny so I bought it! Got home and did some research online and I think he was right, every Plainsman I saw was black with black grips! Has anyone seen a polished Plainsman .175 before?

These pics do it no justice, it actually is very shiny, almost a chrome finish!

Never seen a black or shiny one before.

Could you make a black one look like that in a few minutes on a buffing wheel?

You might be right Sport45. Based on the 3rd pic, it looks like there's some black left on the trigger guard, the trigger, and the screws look like they were also black at one time. If it was indeed polished from the factory, the screws would be uniform in color and would all match. They wouldn't have black groves in them or have varying color patterns. Plus the pics make the edges appear "rounded", which is a symptom of removing the original finish.

But I could be wrong.

Wow that thing is nearly a dead ringer for these:

I'm really curious which came first?
These two nickel High Standard Sport Kings are circa late 1970's.

Yeah, I removed the grips and there was black paint under them, whomever stripped, sanded and polished this gun did a good job but could be better! I'm kind of a perfectionist so maybe I'll try and take this thing to the next level and really shine it up!
