Anyone see the new "Bersa" out there?

They're imported under a different name that escapes me right now. still made in Argentina though.

Looked one over at the gunstore last night. A little large-ish for a .380, but looked well made enough.

Anyone have one of these? Opinions on the old Bersa's? I've heard they are reliable as anything but not real accurate.

Any info appreciated.

Jack, I have two of the 'old' ones and will buy a couple more. (I guess they're old, but I didn't know there were 'new' models.) I have had good service from the two I now have. The first one broke, I sent it back to Eagle Imports, and they sent me a new one! Quickly!

As for performance, they work great for me; as for accuracy...they seem to hit close to where I aim, and if I do my job, they actually begin to group up!

Have fun!

I have the Bersa Series 95 and it has NEVER jammed. You can do a search on the Bersa in the Handguns and Pistolcraft Forum and you should come up with a few threads on the Bersa. I get pretty good accuracy with mine. If you take your time and really try to pay attention to what you are doing then you can get some good groups with mine. I would definetely be willing to try anything made by this manufacturer.

Shouldn't this be in handguns ??

By the way, if you fancy a laugh, go to Bersa's Argentinian homepage, load the English version and read the disassembly instructions for the Thunder - sorry I don't have the link, but its worth the search.

I have Bersa model 83A, It's a decent gun in my opinion, For a .380. So far I have had no problems what so ever with this gun and I purchased it used. :)
The new version I believe is called Firestorm
They make the .380 and a 1911 .45 clone.

I have a couple Bersa Thunders and I believe them to be accurate, reasonably well made and pleasant to shoot. As a .380 they also are correspondingly easy to shoot. Jamming is rare. A number of municipal police departments reputedly bought them as backups. They only hold 7 in the clip and spare clips are in my oopinion expensive.
