Anyone own a Kahr CM45?

Been carrying a CM9 for a couple of years, but have always secretly yearned for a sing;e-stack .45.

Obviously, it's not going to be a "range gun" that's pleasant to shoot- but wondering if I should expect anything different (other than the sting) than it's 9mm sibling.

While my CM9 has been absolutely flawless, internet scuttlebutt seems to indicate that the .40SW and .45ACP versions tend to have more problems.

The XD-S in .45ACP may be another pistol in this class worth looking at as well.

Get the CW45, 3" barrels just make the slide stroke too short and makes feeding a fat 45 case into the chamber problematic.

I did make my CW into a covert and cut the grip to the CM length now i have a 45 that fits in many of my pockets yet is still very easy to shoot well and very reliable.

I will second the CW45. I use mecgar 6 round 1911 mags in mine. They fit flush so the CW is only a little taller than the CM because of the CM baseplate. The mecgar mags need about 10 minutes of work on them before you use them. Here's my CW with a mecgar mag.

I would pass on the CM45 as well. I really like my PM9s and I have, over the years tried all of the Kahrs. I have kept the PM9, CW40 and CW45. I actually think the CW45 is the best of their .45ACP pistols.

I recently bought a CM45 to replace a PM45 that was stolen a couple of years ago. I only have about 500 rounds through it, but it has so far proven to be just as dependable and shoots just as well as its more expensive cousin. It will join my CW45, PM9, and MK40 [my favorite Kahr but I wish they made an MK45] in the Kahr section of my collection. It's not a pocket pistol like the PM9 except maybe in a leather jacket pocket, but it'll do.

Even though the CW45 is supposed to be the Kahr budget gun, I love mine. Not much bigger overall than my g27, feels great in my hand and is very accurate. you lose the fancy laser engravings but also lose a couple hundred on the price tag.
I bought mine from a lgs for $418 OTD. Shoots and feels like a much more expensive gun and carries well....maybe not for pocket, unless you have some big ass pockets...

I just sold my CW45, but I have always had a soft spot for Kahrs. Years back I was super bummed when I saw they were releasing a CM45 (as I had just bought the CW), but after seeing it in person I also noticed that it wasn't much smaller than mine. I never had issues with the recoil when shooting, but my wife was not a fan of the cheese grater grips. Some people use bike inner tubes to cover it up, I was just grateful to have that bit of extra grip.

I did the same as railroader - bought a Mec-gar Officer's 6 round mag - works great in my CW45. Just had to Dremel the feed lips slightly:

I have owned a P45 for about nine years.
Bought it because my PM9 is such a spectacular pocket pistol.
P45 is great but is not a pocket pistol...let me try again. I have pocket carried the P45, but it is at the outside edge.

Had a PM45 briefly...but it had some issues. Not to say I would not own another one, but in the grand scheme of things, I believe the PM9 is a better choice.

YMMV.
