Anyone Notice The Buying Frenzy?

It's a mad house over at the local Wally Worlds and the shops. I saw a bunch of people buying long arms and stocking up an ammo. Ammo in the popular calibers was sold out and only a few boxes of expesnive defense ammo were left on the shelves. Is it just my area or is this a trend?

BTW This guy was waiting to get phone approval for a shotgun and all the while he was saying how Bore won the election. Kept saying how Bore was the best and he would fight for us. Everyone at the counter was giving him dirty looks. What an idiot!

Don't forget. Deer season's starting... Keep the kids inside, paint "cow" in big orange letters on the livestock, and practice ducking...

A well stocked gun shop in Las Vegas, Bill's Buy and Sell, was out of .223 and .308 ammo on 11/08/00.

Talked to Eric the Ammoman the evening of 11/07/00. At one point during the election returns his server had 4000 orders all at once and caused it to lock up.

Shades of 1994?

Yes. I have a part time job at a gun shop, and your normal hunting population has already stocked up.
The new buyers are as nervous and jumpy as the stock market.
The general reaction to the election is a cross between anxiety and rage.
This country could get very ugly.

People in other countries are pretty nervous too. They see this happen in third world countries not USA.

I'm not paranoid but I've ordered a, er, few cases of ammo this week. Just paid another visit to that dirt cheap place and got a few more, actually. Doesn't make me paranoid... right? Right? ;)

(to answer the question, yes, my dealer told me today it's nuts... on both guns and ammo... shotguns seem popular here in Florida this time of year... goes with anything)

Could be only the pre-deer season rush. I hope "THEY" don't figure that out. I encourage the mass purchase of weapons and ammunition just to ensure that your vote reall did count.

You can bet that if Gore succeeds in his coup, the value of "private sale" guns in non-registered states like mine will shoot up drastically, relative to the same gun off the shelf, obtainable by registering - oops, I mean, filling out a 4473.

Sodbuster, that's "DOG" in big orange letters on the family pets for the BATF, and "Shoot me - I'm unarmed but you'll get away with it" on human beings. Though I wouldn't put it past them to shoot a cow who might potentially "warn" a "fugitive" of their clandestine presence.

At the show today ammo was flying out the door by the case. A couple of dealers were out of 7.62x39,9mm,45ACP and 12ga. I didn't see this level of buying pre Y2K. One smaller guy sold out of guns by 2:30,mostly used or lower end new pistols. Crowd was shoulder to shoulder. It wasn't a hunting crowd.

Be careful what you ask for..You may get it.
