Anyone make ghostring rear sight for 870 20" w/rifle sights?

Uh, guys.....
A Ghost Ring sight is a peep sight with a press agent. It's located near the eye.
My "Deer" 870 has that very bbl on it.I had a Williams Receiver sight mounted,removed the rear sight from the bbl, and then sighted it in. Yes, I do have the sight base still on the bbl, but it's not in the sight picture and causes no probs. The aperture goes in for bench work, comes out for hunting, "Practical" and HD.
A peep sight has to be close to the eye, which looks not at the peep but through it.

Dave, does this mean that GR sights for handguns are ineffective? If you shoot weaver stance, the rear GR is about as far as the rear-of-barrel mounted Williams sights on an 870...
What you said makes sense...how could a ring ghost out if it's placed too far down the visual alley

Romulus, that's a good question on the pistol sights. I understand that they work fine, must be significantly bigger than the ones for shotguns.
The rear sight that I've owned was a Scattergun Tech sight on an 870. It's pretty simple to have a smith mount it or a Lyman or Williams. I hear good things about the MMC sights as well. IIRC, Erick has MMCs on his 870.

Rom, I've no experience with the pistol sights.
GR sights go way back. I saw my first one about 1962, mounted on an obsolete Remington Model 8 rifle, in 35 Remington,IIRC.
The grizsled owner explained how taking the aperture out made it fast and wrking well at typical Eastern deer ranges.
The two slug shooters here sport one each Lyman and Williams peeps, the Lyman's a very old target sight with about 3X the adjustment I'll ever need and the Wms is an early Foolproof. Both were obtained in the old days when gun shows sometimes had bargains.
Mounting the peep on the receiver puts limits on the versatility, which is how I started down the slippery slope of multiple 870s, You HAVE been warned(G)....
