Anyone know?

A coworker just asked me the bullet weight for the lightest commercial, standard-construction bullet (not the Beehive, Magsafe, but lead & copper) on the market.

I THINK it's a 90-gr. bullet, but I don't know for certain.

Anyone know the answer?

Ah, yes, but...

...35gr .25 auto JHP's are lighter than the .32 Short, and while heavier than the .22 Short, have a conventional copper-jacketed lead bullet rather than the copper wash used on heel-based rimfire projectiles.

.17 Remington projectiles would, of course, be lighter still, but it's an uncommon chambering for autopistols. ;)

OH GOD I'M AN IDIOT!

SORRY, GUYS! :o

I left out the all important caliber I'm asking about!

9mm Luger!

Geez. Today just isn't my day...

I could swear I saw an 85gr JHP for 9mm somewhere. I remember being surprised because I was expecting it to be for .380

But I can't give you a source, so better treat it as rumor.

Dang, I was all ready to toss in the 25 grain pills for the 17Remington! I've seen 85 grains loaded into foreign 9mm's, but I can't remember anything lighter.

Mike,

I know Remington produces a 101 grain 9x19 round. I'm not suggeting it's the lightest, just the lightest I know about.

I got a Bro that likes his 90 grain 9MM +P loads... so I would hazard a guess at 90 grains for 9MM...

Question is WHY? Why does he want to know the LIGHTEST?
Does he want the least recoil? Fastest possible? Whats he going for?
