Anyone Know Where to Find a .45 Full Wadcutter?

I'm thinking something light, like 185 gr.

Anyone ever come across something like this?

I don't recall ever seeing these for sale, however I knew of someone who used to take either 185gr or 20gr SWCs and load them rear side up to get the same effect. Not sure how well this worked out for him though. He had a SW 625 if I recall.

Last time I shot wadcutters was over 40 years ago, I was shooting my 1911 on base when this FBI agent stopped to do his training. We got to talking and he gave me a box of wadcutters he told me to use them for training as they were less expensive. He also mentioned that this is the only way he tested his gun for reliability. If it can feed all the rounds without a malfunction it will feed the rest.

Those button nose wadcutters are made for .45 Colt. An ACP isn't likely to feed 'em. So which .45 you're asking about matters.

It depends on how the ACP is tuned for reliability. My Goldcup feeds empty cases all day. Mainly a little feed ramp re-radiusing involved.

NEI mold number #284B is a 185 grain full wadcutter, if you cast your own.

Most of those 185 gr "button nose" or blunt nose" are either H&G mold # 130 or an adaptation of the same. I shoot those all the time thru 5 different .45 autos and they all feed great. Great short range accuracy, too.
