Anyone know the name / origin of this stock?

I've seen this same stock on multiple custom rifles, in different configs, both hardwood and laminated wood, and really like it.

Just wondering who makes these? First I thought it was one of a kind until I started seeing them pop up. It's mostly on older custom builds, so maybe Herter's or some such? Anyone still making them?

I think it may be only found on Mauser 98 action builds, but possibly others.

Yep, Richards Microfit Wildcat. One of these days, I'll get around to ordering one for my 6mm wildcat.

You can get it in several choices of wood or laminates; and as an un-inletted blank or inletted for any of the actions listed here: Action Inlets.

Thank you sir. Yeah, I actually have one I got on a used custom build - didn't really make that clear. I thought mine was a custom one-off (dangit). It is beautiful rich-grain wood, not laminated. The only problem is the cheekpiece/comb is set *too far forward* for the LOP... it needs to extend another 1 to 1.25" backward so you don't have to lean so far forward. Besides that flaw, well it's a beauty and otherwise ergo.

The stock reminds me of the radical "California" styled stocks the long-discontinued and expensive semi-custom Winslow Arms Company rifles came with (sans thumbhole). In terms of appearance, they are very distant from my "cup of tea"...But, "each to their own" is a motto I'm in full accord with.
