It is very close to the 240 Weatherby and it will burn a barrel so to speak. Any high velocity cartridge will. You have to pay for performance. Barrel life is part of it. I shot a 6mm-280 Improved quite a bit. As a hunting rifle you won't wear it out. Not great for just targets though.
