Anyone here play Diablo?

Just got around to getting it, the original version, not Diablo II.

Lots of fun. I just kicked Diablo's ass with a 25th level fighter, 362 hit points (magic adjusted), maxed out resistance to magic, fire, and lightning, etc. Great character!

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.

Scrap DI and play DII!

Gave up on my lvl28 Paladin after beating Diablo in Hell.. not strong enough to hold my own (by myself) in the nightmare levels.

However, am in hell (in normal) with a lvl26 Amazon, and she's smackin' everyone around left and right. Plan to finish out the remainder of the game with that character.

God, Guns and Guts made this country a great country!

I love it.

Don't give up on that paladin. They get very nasty around 35th level. They can charm mobs and have them fight each other. They just stand around and watch.

The amazon is formidable, especially the bowazon variety. Mine is 43rd lvl and she's bad news. Nightmare is just that though. Wait until Act3 nightmare. It's not pretty. Not one bit.

Played the first one, and now I'm playing the 2nd. I have a 36 Necro Realm character and a 28 Amazon Realm character. You guys should really play CounterStrike. It's a mod for Half Life that blends the action of Quake with the realism of Rainbow 6/Rogue Spear. The weapon animations are amazing.

Diablo/Hellfire: Level 36 Barbarian "The Axeman"
Diablo II: Level 26 Barbarian "Fluffy" and level 16 Necromancer "Unholy_Bob".

No - you can't tranfer charicters... :)

Actually if you COULD - you would void the story line.
The HERO, or YOUR CHARACTER from DI that you beat Diablo with, is THE WANDERER in DII.

I have a level 28 Paladin that is STUCK in act 3. Freakin little Fetishes with blow guns just eat him alive.

Necromancers rock to a shockingly high degree once you get past level 18 or so... and once you get a Golum and Bone Spear - they RULE.

Sorceress with all ICE skills are pure medicine for Diablo.

Barbarians... Not a big fan of them.

If your a big fan of DII: Goto this webpage: http://www.maxfreak.com/diablo2/
You can download some "SAVED GAMES". :D
Meaning you can try DII out with a lvl 75 Necromancer and level 45 Ice Sorceress...
For educational use only.
Oh - the Character Editor... dont try it. You alter a character file and that character will crash your game - at least mine does. I tried like 4 times to "adjust" a new character with bad results each time.

Play Nice...

Yup, play Diablo I alot...haven't gotten around to picking up D II yet. I've got Turok, Duke 3D, ArmoredFist, M1 Tank Platoon II loaded on my computer.

Steve - time to upgrade.
DII is where its at for fantasy role playing type games that I NEVER thought I would get into. Your other games are good - but dont have that addiction power of Diablo II.
I suggest going to a comp store and wandering the software isles.

Y'all want to have some fun, check the utter confusion lendringser and I have created at GT with our "Caliber War": http://glocktalk.com/docs/gtubb/Forum13/HTML/010040.html It's been a scream over there thus far... :D

The secret to the Paladin is rack up skill levels on Zeal and Fantacism. It is like going full auto once you get those high enough.

Tam, you guys are evil. :D

I've been replaying Doom. Yes, the original. The grafx and sfx are really lame now, but the atmosphere and gameplay are still fantastic, 6 years later.

[ObGunContent]
The sidearm in Doom appears to be a Beretta M9. Well and good, except that the chaingun uses the same ammo. A 9mm chaingun seems kinda wimpy. Also, the former humans (with rifles), when you kill them, drop their ammo, which can be used in either your pistol or chaingun... which means they're carrying 9mm carbines. For an interplanetary defense force, that's weak. I would expect 7.62 NATO for the rifles and chaingun.

Shotguns: yes, you have to rack them for each shot, and each new shotgun you get has 8 shells... but their mags never run out (just like the pistol). At least in Doom II, you have to manually reload the sawed-off SxS. The shells are, I believe, double-ought 2 3/4 12-gauge. Twenty to a box, which is OK, but the boxes look more like 100-shell bricks.

I really need to make my own FPS...

There is a new HEAVY METAL game thats a shooter - but kinda 3rd person or so. Only seen a couple times and never played.
And if any TFLer makres a FPS Shooter - I'll beta test for free.
Back to the Diablo:
Multi spectrum axes are nice - but I'ld rather have a multispectrum War Sword with a sweet shield as a combo. Smite and Charge are good tools with the Paladin and Charge alone can take down a large Baddie. Zeal is sweet when getting surrounded - but when going up against biggies Vengence is the skill of choice.

Playing normal charicters in normal fasions is no longer interesting... I like the Multirole Fighters... Take the Magic User classes of Necro and Sorce and train them as fighters... A heavy sword and shield combined with Frost Nova is very interesting.
Or a Two Handed sword packing Necromancer with a good level of curses can also be very entertaining.

Yep, I LOVE Diablo, haven't bought the 2nd one yet. I have a 28th lvl Amazon "Tambryn," a 27th lvl Sorcerer "Raistlyn," and a 23lvl Warrior "Peregrine."

I love the game, can't wait to play the second game, but we're going to get the expansions for the first one B4 we go buy #2.

The hardest and most interesting character to play, to me, is the Sorcerer. He's physically weak, so you really have to plan your attacks. The knight is real cool cuz you can just hack away at all those goat men.

My main gripe is the way the Succubi and Goat Archers run away from you and DON'T STOP running! W/ the Warrior that gets REAL tiring after a while....

Forget Doom, You need to play Unreal Tournament. Could you imagine owning the flak cannon. The ultimate corrider clearer, see my other post. Not really good for learning tactics, but a fun way to take out your aggressions while not actually hurting anyone.
