Anyone here own any of the older Marlin Shotguns?

Im supposed to be picking up a model 24 within the next week or so.The last patent date on it is 1908 if I remember correctly.I already read about the safety warnings on these and plan on doing a full teardown to check out the condition of the innards before I even think about firing it.Does anyone else out there own or shoot these old guns?
