just as the title reads. Don't have one by me and can't get my hands on one without ordering it off amazon. Anyways if someone is willing to look a gun up for me give me a pm.

gun is a Ruger Single Six .22
Model number is 00625
Stainless Steel 5.5" barrel.
would say at least 98% considering it has only had 20rds through the LR Cylinder and none through the Mag. cylinder.

thanks nathan

Your request, IMHO, is really unfair. Others paid for their book, you can also.
What Master Blaster 2 did was the appropriate thing. He helped you to help yourself. He taught you how to fish instead of spoon feeding you.

Blue Book values are only a guide. You can search completed auctions on Gun Broker and get a pretty good idea. I don't have this year's book. I buy it every other year.

Dude, where's the fire? Not everybody is in the gun selling business and buying a bluebook to sell one gun would be a total waste of money. It's totally reasonable to ask a quick favor like this. If he was asking every other day then maybe he should go buy his own, but come on.

To the OP, I don't have one either but if I did I'd look it up for you. I'm not super current on what new/used single sixes are going for but in my neck of the woods, I would not take less than $400 for the pistol you described.

Hello NHagar,,,

This is the latest I have,,,
It's from the 2010 issue of the Standard Catalogue of Firearms.

Stainless Steel Single Six Convertible
The same as the standard blued model but made from stainless
steel. Offered with a 4-5/8", 6-1/2", and 9-1/2" barrel.
NIB 475
Exc. 400
V.G. 300
Good 250
Fair 225
Poor 175

Hope this helps,,,

I just paid $350 for a very similar revolver. It has a 6 1/2" barrel. Hope that helps....

No dealer I have ever worked for or known puts much value on the prices in that book. It is an interesting reference but you will rarely get the price they quote.

Unless they are selling the gun to you,,,
Then the book value somehow becomes very relevant. ;)

Aaron's post from his 2010 is still dead on, the values in the 2012 edition of the same book are identical

Are you sure on the model and barrel length though? Not seeing 5.5" as an option for the convertible?

I do see a 5.5" model for the "New Model Single Six Star Model".
The 5.5" variation is
NIB 450
Exc 350
VG 275
G 225
Fair 175
Poor 150

Wow!

I guess we should delete the "Sticky" pertaining to S&W Serial Number Lookup and just tell everyone to buy their own copy of the Standard Catalogue of Smith & Wesson.

Aside from the ethics of asking for blue book info, you could get a better idea by checking what they bring on auction sites. The blue book is too high on some guns, too low on others, and a few spot on. It should be used in conjunction with other sources rather than as the Bible of gun values as some use it as. It is NOT anything more than a guide of price estimates. It does not determine the value of a gun, as some would have you think.
