Anyone have experience with the 11-87 police model?

Two of the local guns shops are saying the 11-87 is not as good as what they carry. The M1, M2 and the 870.
And the 11-87 is a tired relic (my words) of the past.
What's the straight poop?

You need to shoot one

I have, and our agency is about to order some. I've also shot the benelli and they kick like a mule. The 11-87 is mild and fast. We have several of the benelli M1 entry guns and they wont stay running. The 11-87 is built good and will last a long time. They are FAST. I saw an Instructor shoot down 5 pepper poppers in 1.77 secs. Everyone says the benelli is fast cycling, but I don't think I could shoot any faster than that feller.:D
Shoot one if you get a chance. My duck gun is a 11-87 and it's never failed me.

Don't buy the benelli sales pitch.

Folks who complain about reliability in semi-autos offten do so because the gun has not be kept clean and in proper order, the reminton or benelli is a fine gun, I used to own a Benelli M1, was a while ago and it was one of the HK imported ones, it worked, but yes kicked like heck and I have seen them have problems from failing to cycle after too many modifications and tacitcal stuff added or if not held really tight as both of these things affect the inerta recoil mechanism, the remington should be much more resistant if not immue to these problems.

Not to mention that the beloved and costly M4 that the maries and everyone else use is not an inerta recoil system gun, though osmeone may jump on me with more technical details, it's a gas operated gun more like the remington than a M1 so the reminton system and ideas can't be quite so outdated to someoen at benelli or the department of defense.
