Anyone have an Escort shotgun?

I've been looking at getting a home defense shotgun and really like the Benelli M4. It's a little expensive for me right now so I'm holding off, but I haven't ruled it out completely.

I've also been looking at the Remington 870, but the model I want is the HD and I've been unable to find one locally. The closest I've been able to come was a Marine Magnum but it's twice the price. That one is also still a possibility in the near future.

My local gunsmith/shop owner has a reputation for not carrying firearms that are less than reliable. He had an Escort 12GA pump. Imported from Turkey (!) by Legacy arms (who also brings in Weatherby) he tells me he's sold quite a few and that he believes they're an excellent value. I bought one on his recommendation at a very good price. The action is silky smooth and the barrel and chamber are hard-chrome lined. Seems to be an excellent gun.

I've had a hard time finding information as these are relatively new. Anyone know if accessories for the 870 will fit it? I'm specifically looking to add a pistol grip full stock but wondered if it was possible. Anyone have one? TIA

this doesnt answer your actual question, but that has a long tradition around here.

Having carried the real thing I would avoid the new "Brady-ized" Benelli. With the neutered mag tube and fixed adj. stock, it is all mouth and no trousers.

Until the real deal becomes available I'd save your pennies. That twist adj. stock is a cool solution to length of pull/armor issues and the manual of arms grows on ya.
