If any of you guys have one of the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 scopes, could you do me a huge favor and measure the diameter of the objective end? Trying to figure out if I can get by with my current medium rings, or if I need to order highs. Thanks.
Unless I'm missing something here, the diameter of the objective end of your Burris is reflected in the specs: 42 mm. I just installed a 4x12x42 Redfield scope on a Weatherby rifle and the Talley low rings gave me plenty of clearance.
The Burris web page states that it is a 56mm objective. 42mm only refers to the lens diameter not the outside diameter of the scope body at the objective. Sorry I don't have this scope to verify these numbers with, but I'm sure they are pretty close. I hope this helps?
Yeah, 56 seems to be about right as far as I can measure. On my Rem 700 with sporter barrel I use medium rings if I remember correctly.. its definitely close, but fits. If they were high rings, I know there would be a big space.
Well, I checked it out with some feeler gauges and it looked like I'd have enough clearance. Then I got the scope today, and I feel I have plenty of clearance left. I just thought I'd post this photo in case others were wondering.
Here it is with Burris Signature Zee medium rings.
