Anyone have a Blue Book of Gun Values?

I am going to have to go buy a new one I guess since I have several Rifles to sell and mine is from 1995, but just curious as to the value of a Weatherby MK V Deluxe .270 Weatherby Magnum in near perfect condition. This is made in Japan if that makes a difference.

Blue Book #30

Mark V Deluxe in Weatherby Mag calibers MSRP $2279
$1750 for 100%
$1425 for 98%
$1075 for 95%
$775 for 90%
From page 1960

FWIW, the BBGV is often inaccurate, behind the market pricing curve, and doesn't take into account regional heavy demand and/or ignorance.

Since the value is only how much somebody would actually pay for one such TODAY, in exactly the same condition, the value of yours can be better approximated via surfing ONLY sold/closed gun auctions for another like rifle in the same condition, to find out what it recently sold for - keeping in mind the unsold, unbid, & "opening bid" auction "prices" are NOT values, they are a seller's target/dream.

Of course, the absolutely best way to find it's value would be to place it (with good pics & descriptions) in a widely-offered gun-only auction (like gunbroker.com, for one) and see what it brings in today's market.

Couldn't have said it better. When I research prices I check gunbroker, guns America, armslist, etc.

I understand what you are saying and that is exactly where I started but, you can take my word for it, there are very few if any Mark V deluxe in 270 Weatherby Magnum out there on the market that I can find.
Actually, my plan with all these rifles is to put them on gun broker and see what happens but, I kind of wanted a starting bid and a reserve since they were all inherited and I don't really know what they are worth.

I've never gotten hurt by starting a one week GB auction at $0.01, either with a low or no reserve - but would suggest setting one at how much you've got into whatever, to at least break even.

All you need is two different folks that want "it"...............

I've always come out ahead - but can understand that YMMV.

The Japan instead of Germany will hurt the value. My LGS had a like new 300 Weatherby MKV deluxe with a Leupold Vari-VII 3-9x40 for $1000.00 + tax. I know that is low and on the auction sites it would have probably went for more but I was there when it sold so I know what it went for. It was there for a few weeks before it sold. If it was German I bet it would have been almost double that price. That's just my opinion
