Anyone follow the Mauser "Broomhadle"

Just picked up a Mauser Broomhandle 8 or 9mm with the broomhandle holster. Converts to carbine if need be.

I think this piece is a work of art and functional. Any one got one? Any comments on these things?

Thanks in advance!

Check here: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg90-e.htm - maybe this will be intersting - a history and images of the C-96..

History?

Max: Now that is a work of art. Haven't seen on in that condition before. Beautiful.

EXTREMELY cool handguns. I've always wanted one, but the ones that I can afford normally have sewer pipes for barrels.

I've fired a couple in 7.62, and another in 9mm. Recoil can be pretty pinching because of the funky shape of the grip.

Guys..Thank You!!

I am so pumped. This one takes me into a new catagory of gun ownership. Its not like I woke up one day and needed to buy one of these..but once I saw it...the bells went off.

People actually used these..unbelievable. Its gonna sit on the coffee table with its comples leather holster and the offended people will be separated out immediately and be asked to leave.

I hear Clint used on of the Broomhandles in a film. Any idea or further comments?

Remember the battle of Yorktown. Heroes do exist.

I had one; a beautiful 1930's commercial production with all matching #'s. It had the best fit & finish on any gun I've owned; every line plumb, every corner square. If Daimler Benz crafted a pistol, this would have been it.

It had been reblued, which made it affordable and shootable.

For some unknown reason that keeps me awake nights, I sold it. :(

Obviously, you had one made by Mauser, and not some un-named Chinese "Bolo" working in the back room...

   Gee, Tamara, I find that very... disturbing. Musta been drugged, yeah, that's it, it was a result of the alien abduction...

I've got a C-96 in 9MM. It is a work of art. Mine is a rebuild that was done by EPCO a few years back. The barrel was relined when the pistol ws rebuilt. It is a beauty and one of my favorite guns along with my P-08 Luger.

Hello. While I know little about them, I did have a "shooter" with "Oyster Bay" or something similar on it. It was reliable with ball and Hornady standard pressure 115 gr XTP bullets.

Kind of a neat looking, fun to shoot pistol.

I donated mine to a "Friends of the NRA" banquet in Dallas a couple of years ago.

Best.

So, what is the law regarding putting that shoulder stock on a Broomhandle? If you have a "cruffler" license, is it OK?
Does it have to be in "original, as-issued" condition, or can it have been re-finished?
Being able to shot a Broomhandle might make it worthwhile to get a C&RFL--although first I'd better be able to afford a Broomhandle...

My ultimate "just because" pistol is a firing "Han Solo Blaster" :)

It was Joe Kidd, but one of the bad guys actually used it. Clint eventually kicked his butt, stole his gun and hat, and used it briefly after that.

The pistol itself was fairly prominent in the movie. The bad guy kept it at his side all the time. Showed him attaching the stock, loading with stripper clips, all sorts of cool stuff.
