While checking out John Farnam's website (defense-training.com) recently, I ran across a section on the "FDR," a highly modified M1 Garand that is set up like a scout rifle: short, light-weight, .308 cal., scout scope, etc. for $2200. Don Johnson in Naples, Florida is the 'smith putting these together. I'm interested in checking it out as an alternative to the Steyr version, but wanted some feedback before making contact. Anyone?
