I saw where Steyr has announced a price reduction of $89 per gun to try to compete with Glock etc. Is any one familiar with their handguns, especially the sub-compact 9mm?

I have held the pistol you asked about.

I own the full size .40, M40-A1 I believe is the designation.

Outstanding accuracy, fun to shoot.

Lack of after market however.

I assume you're talking about the S-A1. I haven't even held one, but based on the specs I've read, I wouldn't call it a "subcompact"; it's not much smaller than the full-size M-A1 and it's longer, taller, wider, and heavier than a S&W M&P9c.

It's not really in the same size class as other guns more commonly thought of as subcompacts, e.g. S&W Shield, Ruger LC9, SIG P290, or even the G27.
